Jason is home!!! He arrived in the wee hours of the morning. The kids woke up, had breakfast and were just hanging out when he came down stairs. Joshua was the first one to see him and said "Hi Daddy!". Then Sarah ran up to him and they have both been stuck to him like glue ever since!!!

We're Home!!

So, I am kinda new at this blogging thing! I haven't really got into it, but I am trying. Anyway, we are home from Dominica and back in N.C. We have had a great time with our family. My brother and his wife are living here with their 3 kids, Anna, Tyler, and Parker.

Red rock haven

I was able to go to a beautiful place on the Atlantic side of the island called Red Rock Haven. It was very peaceful and beautiful!! There was a restaurant & bar that had wonderful food. Most of my friends ordered a Caribbean pizza. It was a homemade crust with an avocado base, 4 cheese blend, and chicken breast~so good! We spent the day walking on the beach, cooling off in the serf and laying in the shade. We were also able to tour one of the rooms you can rent. Although very exotic and beautiful, Jason would never agree to no air conditioning!! Ha Ha

Bense Pool

Living on "The Nature Island of the Caribbean" has been living up to its name! There are many trips offered through Ross Spouses Organization (any one here in Dominica supporting a loved one attending Ross School of Medicine). Bense Pool has been one of my favorites. My mom was here visiting and was able to come along, although she did not choose to jump off the 30 ft. cliff! After pulling together my nerve I did jump. The waterfall also doubles as natural water slide. I felt less comfortable with this idea and chose to sit that one out. It was so fast and once you put your legs in, you were gone!

Portsmouth market, Dominica

Every Saturday in Dominica we have market.  Fresh veggies, fruits, fish and other items are sold by local venders.  This is the main way to grocery shop here!  My friends get up and leave before 6 am and I am always welcome to come along for a ride, unfortunately I am not a morning person and rarely make it out.
